Bill Brown is the CEO of New Waters Capital LP, focusing on quantitative strategies across all asset classes and developing innovative high-margin business models to support the global energy transition. He also serves as a strategic advisor to the U.S. DOE National Renewable Energy Laboratory, building partnerships to transform energy economies globally.
Bill is the founder and former CEO of both NET Power and 8 Rivers Capital, companies he led for over a decade. NET Power, listed on the NYSE in 2023, produces clean electricity from natural gas while capturing 100% of the carbon dioxide. 8 Rivers commercializes technologies related to power, clean fuels, building materials, water, space launch, wireless communications, and industrial processes. It was acquired by SK Group in Korea. Both companies achieved "unicorn" status under Bill's leadership.
Previously, Bill was a professor at Duke University and had a significant career on Wall Street with Morgan Stanley, AIG, and Goldman Sachs, as well as in law as a partner at Sidley Austin. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees from MIT and a JD from Duke University School of Law.
